New Prints: Sailor Jerry Bag and Shave Kit Prints

Posted by Jeremy on 12-08-2010 20:33:44 UTC

Here are some pics of two new prints for Sailor Jerry, one is for a small shave kit and the other is a messenger style bag. Both were something new that we've never printed before and presented a challenge of sorts because of a few well placed seems or buckles, but we made it happen and I think they came out great!

Here's two brand new prints, one from Crucial Dudes for their upcoming Holiday 'Wreck the Halls' shows, and Sailor Jerry.

New Prints: Limited Edition Sailor Jerry Prints

Posted by Jeremy on 12-07-2010 06:09:23 UTC

We did a series of Limited Edition cardstock prints for Sailor Jerry. We were beyond excited to hand print these authentic versions of artwork created by Sailor Jerry himself! I believe these are only being sold in their retail store in Philadelphia, so stop by and pick one up. Each print is limited to only 50 copies!

New Prints: Woe/Krieg Record Release Poster

Posted by Jeremy on 12-07-2010 05:59:38 UTC

Here's a pic of the recent Woe/Krieg record release posters we printed. They're 18x24, two colors, and printed on 100 pound French Paper stock. STOKED!

New Prints: This is Hardcore 2010 Posters

Posted by Jeremy on 10-07-2010 01:22:57 UTC

JoeHxc has always been a huge supporter of this print shop and record label even though we're not a strictly hardcore label. I couldn't thank him enough for everything he's done for me over the years. Joe is a true gentleman and one of the best guys this scene has ever had, bar none.

For the past three years Joe has let us design and print the posters for the annual This is Hardcore Fest here in Philadelphia. This year we printed 100 18x24 inch two color posters with a nice sci-fi horror theme to them. Here's some pics of the posters drying on my back deck just before I numbered them.

Can't wait to print some again next year!

New Prints: Astpai, Dr. Mario, X-Hunters, and Drexel Physics

Posted by Jeremy on 10-07-2010 01:16:45 UTC

More new prints! Yeah, we've been busy.

First we have two brand new prints for the Austrian band Astpai, who just recently released their third full-length record called Heart to Grow.

On the video game tip we recently printed some shirts for a Dr. Mario enthusiast and The X-Hunters, who apparently play theme and game songs from old school video games at comicons and video game conferences in the area. Weird? Not really.

And finally we have another print for Drexel's Physics Department. This is the second time we've printed this design (first in the color combination), and we're always happy to help the fine folks over at Drexel solving the puzzles of the universe with cool threads.

New Prints: Ink & Dagger, Air Team, Days, Good Times Clothing

Posted by Jeremy on 10-07-2010 00:59:23 UTC

Again, it's been awhile, but we've been super busy around the shop lately. Here are some of the latest prints we've had on the press:

To say we were stoked to be able to help out Robby Redcheeks with some tees for Ink & Dagger's reunion sets this past August in Brooklyn and Philadelphia would be an understatement. Here's what we were able to help them out with.

Our good buddy CPM from None More Black started his on HVAC and mechanical services company called Air Team. We were happy to help him out with some tees for this new endeavor.

It's kind of hard to tell from the pics, but that's a three color print on the front and a six color print on the back! Fun stuff!

Finally we've got a few designs for the band Days and Mike from Good Times Clothing.

Shop News: Price Increases Again?

Posted by Jeremy on 09-16-2010 18:09:43 UTC

Awesome! As the subject title above states, the mills and distributors are raising their prices again. For now we're going to keep our prices where they are from the most recent increase and see how things go. We're trying our best not to increase our prices again, but we might have to increase our prices when the dust settles. We'll let you know if and when that happens.

We've got a ton of new prints to post, and I'll hopefully be taking care of that tomorrow and monday. Thanks for stopping by!

New Prints: Stubborn Records

Posted by Jeremy on 08-09-2010 16:36:02 UTC

King Django from Stubborn Records has been one of our longest running customers over the years. In addition to being one of the mainstays in the US ska/reggae scene, Django has been releasing and importing awesome ska, rocksteady, and traditional reggae since the early 90's. He's also got a bunch of really awesome tees available as well. Here's some pics of a few we've done lately, some new, some reprints of his more popular designs.

New Prints: Aspiga, River Horse

Posted by Jeremy on 08-09-2010 14:52:27 UTC

We've been so busy lately that I've got a back log of pics that should have been posted earlier this summer. Here's four more to check out, two from Aspiga and two from River Horse Brewing as well.

New Prints: Aspiga, American Alchemy, Broad Street Bullies, and Lighten Up

Posted by Jeremy on 08-08-2010 17:08:13 UTC

Yeah, we've been busy. This website needs to be updated (and actually built), but in the meantime, here's some more pics of prints we've done lately!

First we've got a pic of an awesome tote bag design for our good buddy Kevin and his band Aspiga, followed by a new print from the guys from American Alchemy.

Anyone that knows me knows I'm not a Flyers fan (give me a break, I am from Jersey), but this print is one of the cooler Flyers fan tees I've seen around, and lastly we've got a nice tongue-in-cheek design from the dudes in Lighten Up. Enjoy!

New Prints: Tokyo Police Club, Eulogy, and Deecracks

Posted by Jeremy on 08-08-2010 17:00:21 UTC

Here are some pics of some of the prints we've done lately. The first two are for Tokyo Police Club, which was a order we turned in less than 24 hours because the band needed to re-up on some tees for two crucial NYC area performances.

Next we have two brand new prints for us as well, one for one of Philly's best bars, Eulogy, and another for the Austrian pop-punk band, Deecracks, who are wrapping up their second US tour this month.

Shop News: Price Increases

Posted by Jeremy on 07-06-2010 17:47:41 UTC

Like a lot of things these days with the economy in the shape that it's in, the price of transportation/shipping and cotton (which, if you didn't know or are a complete tool, is the main component of the garments we print on) have gone up considerably over the past 18 months. Because of that, our distributors have increased their prices anywhere from 3% to 5% for most items. So, that means we have to increase our prices a bit as well. For the most part that means prices have gone up about 10 cents for just about all the garments we print on. Sorry for the bad news, but the buck's getting passed onto us, so the chain must continue on. In other news, Kevin Day loves monkey cock. Oh wait, that's not news....

New Prints: Handguns, Brookside, A King Thing, Landmines

Posted by Jeremy on 06-04-2010 22:40:30 UTC

Busy, busy, busy! The weather is getting warmer and the shop is buzzing. Here's a few pics of stuff we've been working on lately. There are a ton more, and I'll post them soon. Thanks!

New Prints: Philly Muay Thai, Philly River Wards, All About Records, and Stoney 2010

Posted by Jeremy on 04-27-2010 14:03:13 UTC

More updates coming soon, but here's some more pics of some of our latest prints. Again, all of these are actual pictures of our prints, not superimposed images of the design on a tee. Check 'em out!

ABOUT US

Jump Start Screenprinting is owned and operated by Jump Start Records. The idea to start printing professionally was a logical choice for the label, seeing as for years we had been printing one-color t-shirts and patches for many of the bands both on the label and friendly to the cause. We say it was a logical choice mainly because we knew how to print, had extensive printing experience in the past, but didn't have a full-blown professional press, dryers, or other essential tools to run a pro-printing shop.

In December 2001, after years of contracting out print work, we purchased a professional four-color press, flash, and tunnel dryers to help get the shop on its feet. We now have the ability to print t-shirts, hoodies, and other merchandise up to six colors, and can do so at affordable and competitive prices as compared to other local and regional print shops. We also specialize in hand printed posters, record sleeves and inserts, and CD packaging. We cater specifically to bands in the area, and offer discounts and credit for those that are in need for high volume jobs and are short on cash. We are a print shop run by musicians for musicians. We know what you want, what you're looking for, and we're pretty sure we can get it to you with a quick turnaround time, solid pricing, and superior quality prints.

If you're looking for quality prints on sweatshop free high quality garments, you've come to the right place! If quality and ethics are more important to you than the lowest price possible, we offer a wide selection of garments that are sweatshop free, 100% American made in addition to those from all the major mills/brands. Whatever your needs, we're here to help you get the best quality prints for to fit your wallet and your conscience!

INK COLOR CHART

Mixing custom ink colors can be costly, so we use standard ink colors from various manufacturers. This is our current stand ink availability chart. If you'd like to use a color that isn't included below you may do so but keep in mind all custom mixed inks require specific Pantone colors and cost $25 for each mixed color.

We've included the approximate Pantone color for each of the inks in our chart so please use them when designing your artwork unless you plan on using custom mixed Pantone colors in your order. Keep in mind, several factors effect the way you view each individual color like monitor type, video card type and capabilities, monitor color calibration settings, lighting conditions when using your computer, etc. We do our best to provide you with the most accurate color choices but only guarantee exact color matching if you order custom mixed Pantone colors.
